Through this programme the audience will discover the tuba in a varied repertoire going from the 19th century to nowadays. French music will be put forward with amongst other pieces, Bizet’s Carmen and Samson et Dalila, a wonderful work by Camille Saint-Saëns. A first classical part before starting a second sequence with more contemporary music from South America, film music as well as parts leaving space for improvisation. Finally, there will be a reference to the virtuosity of the violin with the famous Czardas by Vittorio Monti: the tuba, the brass pachyderm can be as fast a a violin!
